Okay, in terms of the troopergate scandal...there is honestly a gray line. On the one hand it seems like she fired the guy based on personal reasons but that can't be proven. Stephen Branchflower even stated that her personal reasons were not the main reason that the guy was fired.
Anyway, I have *many* reasons why I don't like the health care bill. I'll list a few so that I don't take up a lot of space lol. And I have actually read most of the bill.
1) By 2014... EVERYONE must purchase health care coverage or be forced to pay a 700 dollar fine per year. So, okay, let's say theoretically that I'm about to graduate college and I'm broke... in 4 years if I still don't have a good job, I'm forced to pay for health insurance. I'll most likely still be healthy and what if I don't feel I need health insurance? That's honestly my choice and the government just took that away from me. And on top of that, it doesn't sound very FREE to me.... See More
2) If you are a family of four and together you make 88,000/year, the government will subsidize you for SOME of the money needed to purchase a plan but not all of it.
3) In 2018, "cadillac" plans (i.e. people that can afford health care that runs around 20,000 per FAMILY per year [i.e. approx 5 grand per person]) are going to be charged a 40% excise tax. To give you an idea, most people in Unions have a cadillac plan. A good portions of Americans have this type of insurance. This means that if I somehow make it even to the MIDDLE CLASS on my own by 2018... I'm getting penalized if i decide that I want good health insurance.
4) Employers with 50 or more employees must provide health care coverage. Okay, this sounds great. Except each employee pays for the coverage each week -- no choice given. What if I need that 50 bucks per week that I'm given in my paycheck? This also means less money to hire people for the employers.
5) With a budget of 943 billion, the government will never raise enough tax money to pay for this.
6) This will put regular plans out of business. Why am I going to pay 6000 per year when I can just pay the fine for 700 and theoretically get "covered" anyway? This leaves government in complete control of health care... and the quality of our health care goes right down the toilet, left to socialism. Nobody will come to America anymore for the great health care that we're known for.
I *could* list more reasons... but I think I'll stop here.

1) and if u get in a car accident I'm sure that your medical bills will be much more than the cost of the plans offered. Half of the problem now is people saying "oh I'm fine I won't get sick". You can't do it with car insurance. I've never had an accident but I still pay it every month.
2)a family of four suggests that there are 2 adults and 2 children, thus the adults are making an average of $44,000 a year. Well more than most people of yours or my own age. Meaning people making less can get more help than those making more. Appropriately.
3)"good health insurance"? This is the problem with republicans. They think name brand insurance is better than any other type of coverage. It is the big name brand companies that have dropped coverage, refused coverage, and charged ridiculous premiums to their customers. They can no longer refuse or cancel coverage, thank goodness. But the idea that "better coverage" is available to some wealthy elite is just plain silly.
4) this just makes no sense at all. What if you are ill and need an MRI? Can't afford 50 a week? How about $3,300 to pay for the MRI out of your own pocket. Sound more affordable? I didn't think so. Insurance is in place for "what if" situations. And they DO happen so this is why people NEED insurance. So the care gets paid for. What about hospitals that don't have enough money cause people get care and it never gets paid for, cause they can't afford it.
5) the government can't afford the bail outs on wall street either, but god forbid u suggest to a republican that you just let the big shots on wall street take their losses.... See More
6) people do NOT come here for our healthcare. On the contrary. September 11th victims have to travel to canada to be able to afford treatments for injuries they suffered DURING the attacks. Good ol American insurance companies refused to give them coverage. No government agency could help them. They have to LEAVE America to get their healthcare.
